AFPTV is providing live coverage from Soweto, Pretoria and Qunu of the memorial ceremonies for Nelson Mandela.

AFP is broadcasting live the national memorial service which is being held today at the Soccer City Stadium in Soweto from 11h00 to14h30 local time.
The agency will cover live the lying in state in Pretoria, when officials and the public will be able to pay their last respects from Wednesday until Friday, December 11-13.
AFP will also broadcast the funeral at Mandela’s birthplace of Qunu on Sunday, December 15.

The ceremonies will be broadcast via satellite, Globecast Paris and YouTube and can be watched on afp.com.

AFP carried its first live video broadcast in 2012.
Since the start of 2013, which is set to be a year of significant growth for AFP’s live HD coverage internationally, AFP has already broadcast live feeds of events such as the election of Pope Francis and the funerals of Hugo Chavez and Margaret Thatcher or the France’s first same-sex wedding.
