Christophe Walter-Petit, AFP representative to the News Media Coalition

EMMANUEL HOOG HAS DECIDED TO APPOINT MR. CHRISTOPHE WALTER-PETIT, CHIEF LEGAL OFFICER, TO REPRESENT AFP TO NEWS MEDIA COALITION (NMC).

The News Media Coalition is an international network grouping major press organs, including the world’s main agencies, responsible for coordinating its members’ positions in response to the restrictions imposed by organizers of sports and cultural events on journalistic coverage of such events.

Christophe Walter-Petit, in conjunction with Juliette Thiébault, who will also represent the Agency vis-à-vis the NMC, will be responsible for developing and managing Agency policy on rights, while also acting as Agency spokesman in relationships with such coordination bodies as the News Media Coalition.

In the name of the media, the NMC defends freedom of information and the public’s right to be informed in the face of the restrictions laid down by certain event organizers.
