European elections: an interactive guide in 9 languages produced by 6 European press agencies including AFP
From June 6th to June 9th, more than 400 million European citizens will elect a new five-year parliament. On this occasion, the European Data News Hub (EDNH) is releasing ‘‘European Elections: A How-To Guide’’, an interactive guide available in 9 languages compiled by AFP and the other 5 European press agencies partnering with the EDNH.
Who can vote? How and when do they vote? What are the main issues for voters in each of the member states? What is the role of the European Parliament? Who are the main political groups? The guide answers these questions in 9 languages (French, English, Spanish, Italian, German, Dutch, Swedish, Romanian, and Hungarian) through interactive infographics.
To accompany this guide, each agency also publishes in-depth articles on key issues related to the elections. These are the articles published by AFP:
- Right-wing Nationalists in Europe: Expected surge in disarray
- The stalled momentum of the EU Green Deal, now a political scarecrow
Launched in 2017, the European Data News Hub (EDNH) is a website co-financed by the European Union and managed by 6 major European news agencies: the German DPA, French AFP, Italian ANSA, Romanian AGERPRES, Swedish TT, and Dutch ANP. It operates with complete editorial independence, a key factor in its credibility, as mandated by the charter published on the website and accessible to all.
Dedicated to data journalism, this website offers diverse and reliable content on major topics affecting Europeans and the rest of the world, free of charge to the public and media outlets. These rights-free materials can be downloaded and reproduced by media users and shared by internet users.
