AFP ensured strong presence at the International Journalism Festival
AFP had a significant presence at the 2024 International Journalism Festival in Perugia, Italy, with several representatives scheduled to speak during the event from 17th to 21st April.
AFP Global News Director Phil Chetwynd participated in three panel discussions:
- "Beyond the Taliban’s media censorship: the story of Afghanistan’s Amu TV" on Thursday, April 18 at 12pm (CET).
- "X and journalists: should I stay or should I go?" on Saturday, April 20 at 10am (CET).
- "Gaza. We needed you: where were you?" on Saturday, April 20 at 3pm (CET).
Sophie Huet,Global Editor-in-Chief / Deputy Global News Director for Editorial Innovation and Artificial Intelligence, took part in the session "AI and journalism: what does it take to get it right?", on Thursday, April 18 at 4pm (CET).
Marie Bohner, Head of Development and Partnerships, Digital Investigations, participated in the session "Fact-checking: dead or alive?" on Saturday, April 20 at 3pm (CET).
Michaëla Cancela-Kieffer, Editor of Audio, joined the panel discussion "Sparking enthusiasm: igniting a passion for solutions journalism in your newsroom" on Friday, April 19 at 10am (CET).
