AFP launches the 2025 Marai Photo Grant
Applications are now open for the "Marai Photo Grant," with a deadline set for December 13, 2024.
After a three-year hiatus, the "Marai Photo Award" has become the "Marai Photo Grant" for 2025. This year's edition focuses on raising awareness about climate change.
The award is organised by AFP in honour of Shah Marai, former photo chief at AFP in Kabul. Shah Marai, an inspiration for Afghan photographers throughout his career, was killed in the line of duty at the age of 41 in a suicide attack on 30 April 2018 in Kabul.
