AFP's Exhibition 'Road to Paris 2024' launched in Jakarta
AFP's Jakarta bureau opened the photo exhibition ‘Road to Paris 2024’ on Thursday, 25th April, ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, in partnership with the French Embassy in Jakarta, the French Institute and Decathlon.
Based on the theme of sport and the French-Indonesian relationship, 50 photos will be on display until 8th September at the French Institute in Jakarta, as well as on the walls outside the French Embassy in the Indonesian capital and Decathlon shops across Indonesia.
From athletics to archery, speed climbing to weightlifting, a variety of sporting disciplines are represented, with images of both Indonesian and French athletes from the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo 2020.
Accompanied by the Phryges (Phrygian Caps), the official Games mascots, France's ambassador to Indonesia Fabien Penone, Indonesia Olympic Committee Secretary-General Wijaya Noeradi, and AFP's Deputy Sales and Marketing Director Alexis Bibard kicked off the exhibition.
The event, also attended by AFP's Jakarta Deputy Bureau Chief Jack Moore and Chief Photographer Yasuyoshi Chiba, featured breakdancers and a DJ entertaining guests, highlighting the upcoming inclusion of breaking as an Olympic sport in Paris for the first time.
