Rohingya refugees wait to be rescued from the hull of their capsized boat as a National Search and Rescue Agency (BASARNAS) vessel approaches in waters some 16 nautical miles (29 kilometers) off west Aceh on March 21, 2024. Indonesian authorities rescued at least 69 Rohingya refugees who had been at sea for weeks and were taking them to shore on March 21 after their boat capsized a day earlier.

Every day, farmer Nguyen Hoai Thuong prays in vain for rain to fall on the cracked dry earth of her garden in Vietnam's Mekong Delta -- the country's "rice bowl" agricultural heartland.A blazing month-long heatwave has brought drought, parching the land in Thuong's home of Ben Tre province, 130 kilometres (80 miles) south of business hub Ho Chi Minh City.

Baye Fall followers chant during a celebration as they return from the Great Mosque in Touba to the house of Sheik Ndiguel Fall, a local marabout, on March 20, 2024. The Baye Fall is a Senegalese Muslim Sect and a branch of the Mouride brotherhood, Senegal's largest Muslim brotherhood. The Baye Fall believe that physical labour, which can consist of farming, construction work and cooking, is an act of prayer and devotion. They are also well known for their colourful clothing dreadlocks and mass chanting.
